We had the best time anyone could ever have on a three day stay at Sugarloaf, Fishing, Hiking and Just plain relaxing. It had been over 40 years since some of our family had seen each other and it was a great place to get together for a small family reunion, Everyone commented as to how nice it was at Sugarloaf and how nice the cabin was.
The people that own Sugarloaf certainly put their heart and soul into making it a memorable stay.

My family stayed at Sugarloaf during the seventies and always had a great time. The Gaithers were great hosts.
For the last fifteen years we have been going to Lake Mohave. Were ready to spend some time at Lake Shasta again.
The cabins were very comfortable for our group of 34. The kids loved the pool and the lake. It was a perfect setting for our gathering with ages from 12 months to 64 years old. Thank you for your warm hospitality!
We all had a great time at Sugarloaf. It's hard to find a place to bring a baby and a dog. Everyone was so friendly from the minute we arrived.
CJ was stoked Harold helped him reel in a big trout, but now he wants a boat. We can't wait to come back again.

I just wanted you to know we've been coming to Lake Shasta for two years now.. But this was our first visit to Sugar loaf.. Wow, what a place!! Friendly, smiling faces(even in the morning!!) Very kind and generous service.. We enjoyed our stay so much we'll be returning next year in August again( probably with more family members!!) We have been coming to Sugarloaf resort for over 35 years. Our oldest daughter, now 34, learned two of her first words there. Boat and Mac (the owners dog). At that time cabin 16 was a small grocery store. We have always come with a group of friends and have probably stayed in every cabin. Lots of great memories and we intend to continue them with our new grandson, who was only three weeks old this summer when he spent his first week there. And he loved it! We look forward to continuing this tradition.
Thank you once again Harold & Arlene for another fun time at Sugarloaf and Lake Shasta! This past August, I believe, has been our 10th year in a row of staying in your comfortable cabins...thanks to my sister and brother-in-law, Janna & Alex Costes who first found you when they booked a cabin for their honeymoon 11 yrs. ago. They've invited us to join them every year since. So, now several members of our family reserve 5 of your cabins which has become an annual tradition, which we will continue for as long as we can! We've been going to Lake Shasta since the 80's. We did houseboats and cabins all around the lake. Sugarloaf is by far the best vacation at Lake Shasta. It is one of only two resorts we will stay at. I just wish it was easier to get reservations, I guess it is a sign of success. We're coming back this year 2004. Wish I was there right now!!! I am a French student who have always wanted to live in the USA. 3 years ago, I came here and I stayed 3 weeks; then this summer I stayed 1 month. The Jones family and the place where they live made me love California and thanks to them, their kindness, I'm sure I'll come back one day. The cottage is such an amazing place so everybody will enjoy vacations here. Thank you, Laurene We have done houseboating on Shasta for years. We now want to try Sugarloaf Cottages. Hope to in 2004!
The Fongs A couple of years ago my wife and I along with some friends of ours stayed in one of your cottages for a week. It was truly the best vacation we've ever had. Since then, we had a boy and he is now a year old. We are planning on calling for reservations for next summer so he can experience the great times at Sugarloaf. I would be interested in renting a large cabin in Feb. I will be moving out of the area and would like to have a gathering of friends and family before I leave. Thanks Looking for accomodations in December to plan a family Christmas We gave our kids a choice of Sugarloaf Cottages or Disneyland, No lie they choose Sugarloaf Cottages. That was great with us no hussle & bussle in line waiting for a 60 sec. ride.We love Sugarloaf always a good group of guests.

From the pictures the resort reminds me of a resort I used to go to on the Lake of the Ozarks.
We recently made our fourth trip to Sugarloaf. Everyone had a great time and my wife especially enjoyed cabin 14. Calling it a cabin doesn't do it justice, it's really a house and very nice. Harold and Arlene are great hosts. We didn't see much of Indiana, but Bailey would usually stop by for his nightly snack. The lake and the views were really exceptional this May with the water being so high. We'll be back in late September for another duel with the fish. If you're going to Shasta, Sugarloaf Cottages is where you want to be. 3rd year at Sugarloaf, what a great time! The toughest part of our trip is leaving. Thank you Harold and Arlene for everything. Thanks for such a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday, the whole family throughly enjoyed being at the cabin for the long weekend. It a perfect holiday; fresh pumpkin pie and the roasted turkey were just like home. The nieces so enjoyed the open space and the snow was an extra special added treat. Their first time to make snow people and throw snowball at the old folks! We had such a good time we're already talking about coming back in the summer and next Thanksgiving. Thanks for loaning us the big dog, he spent nearly the whole weekend with us. He especially enjoyed helping me and my brother with the grill cooking! What a sweety he is. Thanks for another great week! As usual everyone had a great time (all 15 of us). Between the lake, the pool, badminton, horseshoes the kids version of "Survivor", never once did we hear "I'm bored". After ten years its still the vacation the kids look forward to the most. Looking forward to next year. Hopefully cabin 14 will open up! Watch out for the cove that looks like a deadend, it's not! Just returned from our seventh year in a row at your cabins. As usual it was great! The weather was perfect all week and the bass fishing was outstanding. Top fish was 20 1/4", 4 lb 05 oz caught by Mike Gigliotti. We caught well over 500 bass during our stay (kept 10). Looking forward to next year. Tom Every year, a group of about 4 or 5 women go away for a womens weekend. I am looking for a new place to go this year and your place sounds very nice. Thank you, Nanda Mayo It's become an annual tradition for me and my husband with our three kids and dog to stay in one of the townhouse cottages. We wakeboard all day in the hot sun, enjoy evening BBQs on the veranda, while kids play volley ball, basketball or swim after dinner, parents sip wine while lounging at boat moorage and count falling stars. My kind of vacation. I am interested in coming to Lake Shasta sometime in May for one week, 5-6 days. I would like a single cabin, rental fishing boat. The last time I was there was in 1984 had the time of our life's I'm sure its changed can't wait to go back YES!!! We got the BIG cabin for Labor Day and the week following. This will be our 4th stay at Sugarloaf. Can't wait! Don't even TRY to find a better place to stay on the lake. YOMAMA. We have been guests at Sugarloaf since !991 and look forward to our trip every year. May, June, August, September, It does not matter. Harold and Arlene and Bayley make our stay very comfortable. just heard from don cruisenberry we got the big cabin for are vacation, thats great The whole Dooley family enjoys Sugarloaf. Stay in touch! Are family really enjoys SUGARLOAF and will definitely go back. We've stayed at several places on Shasta Lake, by far, Sugarloaf Cottages is THE place. They're clean & quiet..I love the idea of my own boat-slip during my stay. Harold & Arlene are the greatest, as well as the kids.. (we've watched them grow up over the years) See you in April, Bailey!!! I'll bring you a tennis ball... This was our second stay at sugarloaf. We stayed the week of October 15th. For the last couple years, my husband and I and another couple have been renting a home for a week at Lake Chelan. My husband wants to try something different where the weather AND the water are warmer. We are just starting to research the Lake Shasta area! Shasta Is AWESOME, It is the most bearutiful Place in California. The Suguar Loaf cabins are the best on the lake. They are clean and the people are great. Everyone should be able to get away to a place like this. Some of the best lake trout fishing you will find anywhere, and the bass fishing is way to easyyyy!! So for good fishing and fond memories try Sugarloaf you won't regret it. Harold will do anything within reason to make your stay as comfotable as can be.(He even loaned us his T.V.when we were cooped up in our cabin for 2 days due to a major storm) thanks Harold & Arlene see ya in April!!! Tring to book a cabin for early may 2000 of all the shasta sites this one looked the best for us. This will be our first trip to this lake. We will be there for fishing fun need any info about the lake an what may be the most productive spots that time of year for bass and trout. Will you be at the fishing tackle and sports show at the Del Mar fairgrounds in March? How soon will I need to make a reservation if I want to secure a cabin for a week in late July? Vacationing on Shasta Lake end of June. Checking into cabins and facilities. Have ski boat. 2 adults, 2 daughters. I enjoy a stay at your place every year.

This is a wonderful vacation spot. I would recommend it to all of my friends. Sugarloaf Cotages has been our summer vacation for the last 5 or 6 years and each year is better than before. We've expanded from 8 people to 25 family and friends. It's a wonderful family resort with the best accommodations. Next year our plan is to get up there two times.
Can't wait for our trip this year, July 30th and counting!
June and our two sons had a great time last week at Sugarloaf Resort. You folks do a great job of make people feel welcome and comfortable. I know you're suppose to, but it's got to be tough sometimes. You can count on us coming back. Jamie was very nice and helpful as well.

I have been staying at Sugarloaf Cottages since 1958 when my parents would took me and my sisters to enjoy both the lake and the atmosphere of the cabins. Now we return each year, with our children to a place that hasn't changed but has improved over the years. We look forward to our gathering; brother, sisters, sons & daughters, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
I, along with my two sons and our many friends have fished Lake Shasta in the Spring ,in April or May. for over 38 years, and we always stay at Sugarloaf Cottages. Harold and Arlene are really nice folks and have
gone out of their way many times to accommodate are needs. We have enjoyed some of the best fishing ever. We have caught fish every year and many, many times have limited out daily, Rainbows, Browns, Bass and now King Salmon. We know the choice spots and the most effective rigs that will catch fish and I would be glad to share that information with anyone who might be interested. (Free of charge, of course).
